This opportunity is well suited to someone who's organised, detail-focused, and comfortable juggling stock management, admin tasks, and day-to-day customer support — all while being part of a well-known, professional retail brand.
A Bit About iStore
iStore holds the title of Africa's largest Apple Premium Reseller, with a footprint of more than 41 stores across the continent, both physical and online. Beyond selling Apple products, the company also offers Apple-authorised repairs, tech support, training, and business solutions — making it a full-service destination for Apple users.
Working at iStore means being part of a brand that prioritises customer experience, operational excellence, and staff development.
What Does an Admin & Stock Assistant Do?
In this position, you'll be working closely with the Admin and Operations Manager, helping ensure the store runs like a well-oiled machine. Your focus will be on keeping stock accurate, supporting the sales floor, and making sure administrative processes are followed correctly.
You'll essentially be the behind-the-scenes support that keeps everything moving — from stock deliveries to store presentation — so the sales team can focus on serving customers.
Day-to-day tasks typically include:
- Supporting the Admin and Operations Manager with general admin work
- Monitoring and managing stock levels
- Checking and receiving new stock deliveries
- Helping conduct stock takes
- Making sure sales staff have access to the products they need
- Applying stock control measures to reduce losses
- Keeping accurate asset records
- Following company SOPs and internal processes
- Assisting with merchandising and store displays
- Keeping the store clean and well presented
- Providing extra support to sales consultants as needed
- Helping with product deliveries and layout changes
- Contributing to smooth daily store operations
What You'll Need to Qualify
- A completed Matric (Grade 12) certificate — this is essential
- A tertiary qualification is a bonus, though not required
- Either one year of admin experience in a retail setting, or two years of admin experience in any other industry
If you've previously worked with stock control, inventory systems, or retail admin, that experience will work in your favour.
The Kind of Person iStore Is Looking For
Detail-Oriented
Small errors in stock records or admin work can cause bigger problems down the line, so precision matters here.
Clear Communicator
You'll be liaising with managers, colleagues, and sometimes customers, so being able to communicate clearly and professionally is key.
Organised
This role involves managing several moving parts at once — strong planning skills will help you stay on top of it all.
Calm Under Pressure
Retail can get hectic, especially around new launches and promotions. Staying composed and productive during busy periods is important.
A Natural Problem-Solver
You should be comfortable spotting issues and figuring out practical ways to resolve them.
Adaptable
Priorities can shift quickly in a retail environment, so flexibility goes a long way.
Trustworthy
Since you'll be handling stock, assets, and sometimes sensitive information, integrity is non-negotiable.
Why This Role Could Be a Great Move
This isn't just an entry point into retail admin — it's a chance to build genuinely useful, transferable skills while working for one of Africa's most recognisable tech retailers. Benefits of the role include:
- Experience with a leading Apple retail brand
- Hands-on exposure to stock and inventory management
- Insight into how a modern retail operation runs
- Improved communication and teamwork skills
- A dynamic, tech-driven work environment
- Stronger long-term career prospects in retail and admin
Whether you're starting out or looking to expand your admin experience, this role offers solid, practical exposure to how a busy retail operation functions.
Background Checks to Expect
As with most retail roles involving stock and admin responsibilities, successful candidates will go through a screening process, which typically includes:
- Criminal record check
- Credit check
- ID verification
- Matric certificate verification
- Reference checks with previous employers
These checks are standard procedure and help confirm that candidates meet the company's requirements before onboarding.
Before You Hit Submit

- Mention any retail admin experience specifically
- Highlight stock control or inventory-related experience
